Explicit or Implicit Communication Style

The couple was watching a Japanese TV program and in the program, the president of a Japanese company was answering the reporter’s questions.
He said, “Our goal is to beat the United States,” and the husband said, “How can you be more explicit than that?” “This man has a rivalry with the United States.” To this, his wife said, “No, he doesn’t.” The husband said, “What do you mean? He explicitly said the United States.” Then the wife said, “He did not mean what he said. The U.S. is a euphemism for a world's leading country.”
This conversation indicates the communication difference in the couple: the husband speaks explicitly and the wife speaks implicitly.
A story given by my friend.
