What is a rounder?

If you are concerned teacher of English, you will frown upon the wrong use of English words. Mansion is such an example. People often say they live in a mansion when they live in a condominium.

But sometimes you will encounter an ingenious creation. As many people already know, nighter is a good example. The word means a night game of baseball and nighter does indicate a night game.

Have you heard about a term called rounder? It means a salesperson in the wholesale industry. The original expression could have been "going round the customer circle," which means to check the shelves of a retail store. When a salesperson sees a shelf in need of a fresh supply, he or she will take a proper action.

Rouder for salesperson...creative, isn't it?
